Report on the AGM of The Parents' Council - October 3rd 2006 Many thanks to the parents who volunteered at this year's AGM for the 2006/2007 parents' council. There are quite a few new faces on the 50-strong council and the meetings are well-attended and vibrant with interesting and constructive discussions on a wide range of subjects concerning the school.
Parents' Council Report Table Quiz One of the main events in 2006 was the annual TABLE QUIZ, very much an enjoyable social occasion, with the added bonus of raising money for our various needs. The very capable and hard-working organiser of the quiz was Niamh O'Donnell and she is also at the helm of this year's event, which will be held on Wednesday 31st January in Ballyroe Hotel, starting at 8.30pm. Quizmaster is Michael O'Connor who has once again kindly agreed to set the questions. Entry per table is €30. Both serious quizzers and those who just want a fun night out will be welcomed and the fun is guaranteed. Throughout the school year we support and contribute towards a wide variety of school activities and you can help us to continue to do this by supporting our fund-raising activities. Our Golf Classic - last run in 2005 - will be held this summer so if you're a golfer keep an eye out for that. These are some of the student activities
supported by the parents' council during 2005/2006: The Chess Club The Chess Club ran once a week at lunchtimes for most of the school year, and this is continuing for 2007. Volunteers from the council also helped supervise tennis after school twice weekly during April and May and this will start up again when the weather improves.
